Soft and fluffy on the inside but perfectly golden and crisp on the outside French toast sticks are perfect for breakfast with friends and family.
Ingredients
- Vegetable oil
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- sugar
- 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Bread
- Cinnamon
Instructions
Step 1: Heat about oil in a large heavy pan on low heat.
Step 2: Combine milk, flour, eggs, sugar, baking powder, vanilla and salt in a bowl. Cut the bread slices into sticks.
Step 3: In another dish, combine the sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
Step 4: When the oil is hot, dip a slice of the bread in the paste in Step 2, turning quickly to coat.
Don’t soak for too long. Repeat with the rest of the remaining bread.
Step 5: Coat the bread with cinnamon and sugar as desired and serve with your favorite syrup.
