How to prepare homemade peach ice cream

You need ripe peaches, salt, egg yolk, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla and whole milk.

Peaches taste like fruits but are tastier and yummier when prepared well.

To make homemade peach ice cream, you will need the following ingredients;

  • Very ripe peaches 
  • Heavy cream 
  • Whole milk 
  • Egg yolk 
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla extract 
  • Salt 

Preparation 

Step 1

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, one tablespoon of salt and half a cup of sugar. Stir the mixture constantly as you bring it to a simmer then remove from heat.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix together the egg yolk and sugar.

Bring the egg mixture up to a higher heat in a slow way so that the eggs do not cook from flash. 

Step 3

Slowly stir your milk mixture as you drizzle into the egg mixture to prevent the eggs from resembling scrambled eggs.

Step 4 

Peel the peaches by dunking them into a large pot of boiling water for 15 to 30 seconds.

Step 5

Cut them into small pieces then blend them; after beading, pour your peach juice into the milk mixture and mix well.

Then add vanilla essence and mix it until it's well mixed.

Step 6 

Put your mixture in ice water bath in a large pan and occasionally stir to speed up the process.

Step 7 

Once the ice cream base has cooled completely, transfer it to an ice cream maker and churn for 20 to 30 minutes until it is thick, has increased volume and its consistency of soft serve.

Serve it in an ice-cream bowl and enjoy your ice cream.
