It's usually made of wheat or oat wheat with baking powder as a leavening agent and baked on sheet pans.
To prepare your homemade scones, you will be required to use the following ingredients.
Ingredients
- 200 grams of self-raising flour
- A quarter teaspoon of Salt
- 50 grams of magazine
- 50 grams of sugar
- 125ml of milk
- One egg

Step 1
Line the baking tin and preheat the oven.

Sieve all the dry ingredients together into a mixing bowl.

Rub the fat into the flour using your fingertips while lifting the mixture above the bowl.

In a separate jug, put the milk and break the eggs and mix with milk, and beat lightly.

Make a hole in the centre of the flour mixture and pour in the liquid, using a palette knife mix to form a soft spongy dough.

On a floured surface, knead the dough lightly until smooth. Then roll the dough and using a biscuit cutter, cut into shapes and place on the baking tray.

Put the baking tray in the centre of the oven and bake for about 15 minutes.

When ready remove it and leave your scones to cool.
