American YouTuber and engineer Zack Nelson has announced plans to set up a $65,000 library in Kenya.
Nelson runs the world's largest cell phone repair YouTube channel called Jerry Rig Everything.
He announced the good news through his YouTube page together with a close friend Philip, who is from Kenya.
Philip moved to the United States to advance his studies and has been there for over fifteen years. They revealed that they have now been working on the project for more than a year.
The library, which will approximately cost $50,000 in construction will be in Budalangi and will be the only functional public library within a 100-mile radius.
They said it will be used by 10 Primary schools, 6 high schools, at least 3 colleges and the whole community of about 7,000 people.
They also plan to drill a borehole and have a tank and solar panels installed to make the library a meeting point and a central hub.
Philip and Jerry are calling on their subscribers to help make the library dream come true by donating books, which have in the past inspired the individuals, to also help the Kenyan kids shape their future.
"Most kids in Kenya first get access to books when they're in school, that's when they are six years old. This library will provide an opportunity for the kids to start learning when they are two years of age," Philip added.
The construction has already started and they have received a nod from the Government to start importing books for the library to Kenya.
The library is set to be open and running if everything goes according to the plan by the end of the year.
