Instagram announced on Wednesday that it is adding two new features that will change how the main feed works.
The two new options, Favorites and Following, sort content chronologically, allowing users to add more recommendations to their feed based on their interests.
“Your Instagram feed is a mix of photos and videos from people you follow, suggested posts and more. Over time, we’re going to add more recommendations to your feed based on your interests,” they said in a statement.
While favorites shows you the latest from accounts that you choose, like your best friends and favorite creators, following shows you the latest from accounts you follow.
You can add up to 50 accounts to your favourite list and make the changes at any time.
Posts from accounts in favorites will show up higher in your home feed, shown by a star icon.
Both favourite and following will show posts in a chronological order, so a user can catch up on recent posts.
To use favorites and following, tap on Instagram in the top left corner of your home page to choose what you see.
