• The photo, now deleted, led to backlash from fans, who said she's clout-chasing
Tanzanian singer Nandy landed in trouble after a photo and video she recently shared on Instagram went against the community guidelines.
The photo which has since been deleted showed Nandy hanging from the top of a tree with a rope around her neck.
Most of her fans attacked her for that as they speculate it might be a photo to promote her upcoming song or from her role in Maisha Magic Bongo drama series 'Huba'.
Nandy, through her Insta stories, said it was quickly blown out of proportion by her fans without trying to understand what she was up to.
"Some of my fans are very impatient with things," she wrote.
"Everything they see, they think it is clout chasing. I am a mirror of society and I use my talent to educate and not to destroy. How can I clout-chase with death? I am not about that childish life with my brand.
"Please learn to be patient with people na kupunguza ujuaji mwingi. There is something I'm about to announce, so be patient."
The songstress added that she is willing to do a radio interview to set the record straight.
"Instagram doesn't want me to speak my truth."
Instagram regulations forbid jokes, photos or videos that are sexist, racist, insensitive or homophobic.
