Life encompasses multiple dimensions, including the physical, the intellectual, the emotional, the social, and lastly, and not least, the spiritual. Kenya is predominantly a Christian nation, which significantly influences decision-making and even shapes the political landscape. Life itself is undoubtedly a miracle, and the intricate order of existence indicates the presence of a superior being who meticulously planned and created everything long ago. Having crafted the world and all within it, this divine creator would not simply remain passive but would actively oversee the world and humanity.

The Christian nation in Kenya has faced various controversies, particularly when certain sects within it have made significant mistakes, such as the Shakahola massacre. Even in their attitude, approach, and action in politics, Christians have always been divided, sometimes even diametrically opposed. While this is normal, the Holy Book stipulates that “a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.” It emphasises the importance of unity and cohesion for the stability and success of the Christian nation.

Benny Hinn's visit to Kenya is not state-funded, yet Kenya's First Lady, Rachel Ruto, who has maintained solidarity with the Church in Kenya, displayed spiritual humility in inviting Benny Hinn to visit Kenya, despite some ill treatment when the spiritual figure visited Kenya more than 20 years ago. That the First Lady is deeply and genuinely spiritual is not subject to debate; the Pentecostal church has walked with her and knows her well.

Benny Hinn is a symbol of unity in the Christian faith and advocates unifying values of the kingdom of God with the right doctrine across the world, even as he operates Benny Hinn Ministries and the World Healing Centre in Texas, US. A moving video of Benny Hinn in the Vatican attending the funeral service of Pope John Paul II stands out. It may have been unusual for evangelicals and Pentecostals to see him attending that particular funeral service. Speaking on the occasion, Benny said he was moved by the people’s hunger for God and admired how the Catholics showed reverence for God. Cardinals at the Vatican also acknowledged Hinn’s work as a unique ministry that God was doing in the world.

Within the evangelical community, the name Benny Hinn is revered, celebrated for his profound impact on faith and humanitarianism. However, the most notable aspect of Benny Hinn is his great reverence for God and the special way in which he conducts his services, inviting and carrying the presence of God through spontaneous but effective worship. Over the years, Hinn has cultivated a legacy that transcends mere preaching, embodying the principles of compassion, charity, and unwavering devotion to the expansion of the kingdom of God, reaching the hearts of men.

Benny Hinn's visit holds the potential to unite the Christian faith in Kenya, addressing prevalent issues such as fake miracles and spiritual exploitation with real action. As a respected Christian leader globally, Benny Hinn can help realign those who have strayed. He respects all religions despite being an ardent believer in Jesus Christ. He once narrated a story whereby God, through him, healed a Muslim who approached him at an airport in Morocco in the dead of the night. He believes that the glory of God can reach every creation of His freely because God is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His word.

Benny Hinn's ministry, which he started in early 1970s, has evolved into a global phenomenon, reaching millions with his impassioned sermons and evangelistic crusades. His message of healing, redemption, and spiritual transformation resonates deeply with audiences worldwide, offering solace and inspiration to those grappling with life's trials. In 2002, Kenyans and East Africans flocked to the University of Nairobi as Benny Hinn brought the message of the Kingdom of God and healed the sick, despite detractors' attempts to discredit him. This is believed to be one reason why the First Lady had to personally visited the humble preacher in the US to request Benny Hinn's presence in Kenya,

Benny Hinn's personal journey reflects a profound testament to the transformative power of faith. Despite facing personal challenges and criticisms, he has remained steadfast in his commitment to spreading the Gospel and alleviating human suffering. Although he experienced a divorce in 2010, remarrying in 2013, he has been married to her for over 45 years, and they are blessed with four children. He is honest and direct about the challenges he has faced in his ministry, especially to his family. Benny Hinn was born in Jaffa, Israel, to a Palestinian family with Armenian roots.

Benny Hinn believes that to be sustained as a vessel by God, one must maintain their integrity and alignment with the values and principles of God. "Christianity is a relationship," Benny often reminds leaders. He believes that a Christian leader must have their faith anchored by scripture. Longevity in the service of God and mankind is proof that one was indeed called by God, Benny Hinn believes.

For Christian politicians in Kenya, there is much to learn from Benny Hinn, particularly the need to genuinely serve the people with a genuine fear of God. It will be a great challenge to refocus on God as they serve humanity. Moreover, Hinn's visit serves as a reminder of the enduring power of faith to inspire and uplift communities. His message of divine healing and restoration transcends religious boundaries, bringing people of diverse backgrounds together in a shared experience of faith and belief.

The First Lady's effort to invite Benny Hinn to Kenya underscores her commitment to addressing the spiritual needs of the Kenyan people and her recognition of the positive impact that Hinn's ministry can have on individuals and communities. It reflects a desire to foster a culture of hope and resilience in the face of adversity, providing avenues for spiritual growth and renewal. The visit is funded by the Christian community in Kenya. Trusting in God is not a crime, in a country where there is freedom of worship. Occasional images of a kneeling First Lady and action such as unifying the Christian nation in Kenya should encourage believers as Kenya faces the present and future.
