Malaba Giants and Green Canopy will battle it out in the play-offs final to determine the Busia County League champions.
Green Canopy were declared Zone 'B' winners after a 3-1 drubbing of Samia FC at Mundika Primary School grounds while Malaba Giants, with a match in hand, are Zone 'A' champions with 37 points from 15 matches— six points ahead of second-placed, who also have a match in hand.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Busia branch chairman, Hillary Musundi said the league, which is nearing the end, has clear winners of the two zones.
Canopy netted their goals through Peter Oundo, Edwin Athali and Geofrey Ouma, who ended the scorer's chart with 10 goals.
The overall top scorer in the league was Kamolo's Eugene Okello Omudek with 19 goals while Ajax striker Denilson Rasmo is second overall with 13 goals.
Canopy assistant coach Wilberforce Nyongesa said the team is more determined than ever to win the playoffs final and have set the bar high.
Malaba Giants' chairman, Evans Oduor, said his team ended the league without losing a match compared to their opponents who lost two. He exuded confidence of maintaining their unbeaten run.
The chairman revealed observed the county champions will be decided by a playoff between the two zonal champions. "We may also have teams which took position two in the respective zones playing to determine 3rd and 4th places.
He added: "The Top three teams in each zone will be promoted to the next level, the regional league. This league was introduced after we had commenced our league."
Oduor said the last three teams in each zone will be relegated to the sub branch league in their respective sub branches.
