The match pitting The General Service Unit GSU against Kenya Prisons at the Nyayo Stadium gymnasium was called off due to a technicality.
GSU were leading 2-0 but poor lighting at the facility made both teams agree to shelve the match until the last leg scheduled for next month.
Ishmael Chege, KVF Organising Secretary said: "The technicality made it impossible for the game to go on. The match will be played in the next leg."
Before the match was cut short, Shadrack Misiko, Naftali Chumba and Cornelius Kiplagat had tormented Prisons at will as the paramilitary side won the first set 25-21.
Bonfetry Wekesa produced a peerless display as GSU toyed with their opponents in the second set, taking it 25-12.
Prisons took a 4-3 lead in the last set before both teams agreed to half proceedings.
Prisons coach David Lung'aho said rescheduling the match to a later date will help them restrategise.
"It will help us to reorganise ourselves. We have a lot to work on," said Lung'aho.
His counterpart Gideon Tarus said his charges will be ready for the match any day.
"We are OK with the decision that was made,"he said.
Meanwhile, straight sets of 25-20, 25-19 and 28-26 helped Trailblazers past Prisons Mombasa to rekindle their playoffs hopes.
Elsewhere, leaders Kenya Ports Authority put in another commanding performance to ease past Rift Valley Prisons 3-0.
The coastal side, who have laid bare their title intentions, managed sets of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-17.
