Reigning FIBA Africa Zone Five champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) became the second Kenyan team to make it to the quarters after hitting REG of Rwanda 67-48 at the Benjamin Mkapa Indoor Stadium Dar-es-salaam Tanzania.

KPA suffered a huge blow after Natalie Akinyi, the team's starting playmaker was ruled out of the tournament with an injury. 

Coach Anthony Ojukwu had to introduce Victoria Reynolds and Jemimah Knight who wreaked havoc from start. 

"It's unfortunate Natalie injured herself in training and will not be able to make it through this tournament." Offered Ojukwu.

He added: "Fortunately, I don't rely on any particular player to win games. I've full confidence in my team."

KPA, who whipped Young Sisters from Burundi 69-42, led 18-8 and 17-8 in a storming first half. They did well to maintain the momentum in the last quarter.
