Kayole Starlets have appointed Mary Adhiambo as their new coach following the elevation of Joshua Sakwa, who has officially taken over the club's management.
Adhiambo is expected to turn around Kayole's fortunes in the second leg of the Football Kenya Federation Women's Premier League.
Kayole are currently at the bottom of the table with -12 points from 13 matches and are favourite candidates for relegation, especially after dishing two walkovers against Wadadia and Bunyore Starlets.
Adhiambo said she is ready for the tough task ahead, now that Kayole are yet to register a win or a draw.
“I know we are staring at relegation but I will try my best to chalk up some wins,” Adhiambo told the Star on the phone.
“My prayer to the management is to get us some funds to enable the girls to play without stress as well as get some valuable additions before the transfer window closes,” she said.
The financial crisis has seen the club lose some of their best players.
Adhiambo is still optimistic that the club can rise from the ashes while Sakwa said they will work around the clock to evade relegation.
