KHU to unveil Masters Tournament Series sponsor

The first series which was held in Kisumu at the start of April, was a curtain raiser for the league that served off on April 7.

The Kenya Hockey Union will today unveil the sponsor of the Masters Hockey Tournament Series 2 at the City Park Stadium.

The first series which was held in Kisumu at the start of April, was a curtain raiser for the league that served off on April 7.

"KHU has received partial sponsorship for the forthcoming Masters Hockey Tournament  from the Institute of Applied Studies and Research (IASR). The funds shall go towards  the Livestreaming of the event  to be held on June 3-4  in Nairobi," a statement from the Union read in part.

The Masters tournament is meant for athletes who are over the age of 45 years, most of who have retired from active hockey.

The subsequent series will be hosted in Mombasa and Nakuru respectively.

The masters league was started in 2019 but took a break in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic and the second edition was held last year.
