Moi Girls High School Eldoret football coach Robert Simiyu is now looking beyond the region as the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Uasin Gishu county games start this weekend at the Hill School, Eldoret.
The Term Two Games will feature volleyball, football, rugby 7s, table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton, and basketball 3x3.
The two-day event will bring together teams from the larger county in search of a single ticket for the bigger Rift Valley region that carries 14 counties.
Simiyu said they are hoping to retain their football title on their way to the national championships. Simiyu said he is elated to fly the county's flag at the regional show after placing third to champions Wiyeta and Itigo last year at the same stage.
“As a school, our aim is to reach the national championships that will be staged in Kakamega. Our opponents in the final have been stubborn since we started these championships and I am happy we overcame them,” said Simiyu.
