John Osogo Boys High School crowned Busia football champions

John Osogo Boys High School from Budalang’i are the new Busia county Term Two Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association Games football champions.

They achieved the feat after beating Madende from Nambale subcounty 1-0 in the final at Nambale Boys on Saturday through Reakey Sande's goal in the 22nd minute.

Madende also booked a ticket for the regional bonanza to be held at Kakamega National School later this month.

In the girls' category, St. Joseph’s Chakol were crowned county queens after trouncing Katakwa 4-0 with a brace from Naome Akuleut in the 48th and 55th minute with Magdalene Kaurechi and Rabecca Odunga accounting for a goal each in the 62nd and  78th minutes respectively.

In girls' volley, Bumala Girls emerged champions after beating St Peter’s Busibi 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-19) in the final while in the boys' category, Sigalame were capped champions after beating Butula Boys in straight sets.

The netball title went to defending regional champions Bumala AC, who beat St Joseph’s Chakol 79-10 in the final.

In rugby 7s, Kolanya Boys emerged champions after beating St Mary’s Mundika 21-0.

Kolanya had beaten Nambale Boys 14-0 in the semifinals with Mundika beating Butula Boys 14-5.

Butula beat Nambale 5-0 in the third-place playoff.

Kolanya Boys, Mundika, Butula and Nambale all qualified for the regional championships. Other disciplines will send two teams each.
