Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) Chief Executive Officer Sarah Shibutse has promised Kenyan sportsmen and women that there will be more testing ahead of major championships across the country.

“With much-enhanced testing among Kenyan sportsmen and women, we expect to intensify the war against doping,” said Shibutse.

She said that the unprecedented testing of athletes will be the new norm adding that they have started using the Dried Blood Spot samples.

“ADAK has intensified clean sport programs across the country and intensified unprecedented tests, targeting athletes.

"It is worth noting that no notice tests will be conducted. Isolated incidences of athletes caught violating the anti-doping rules are unfortunate and inexcusable.

“The value of clean sport should be over-emphasized and therefore ADAK will not hesitate to impose stiffer penalties on those athletes and athlete support personnel who wish to make a mockery of the doping control processes,” she said.
