KCB have been crowned overall National Sevens Circuit winners and Kabeberi 7's champions on Sunday after beating Nakuru 26-0.

The bankers ended the National Sevens Circuit with 113 points, edging out Kabras who came in second with 104 points and Strathmore Leos third with 95 points.

The bankers were crowned NSC champions for the fourth time in their history following the defeat of immediate former leaders, Kabras Sugar, who lost 12-5 to Menengai Oilers in their quarterfinal tie on Sunday morning.

The bankers put up a stellar performance, maintaining an unbeaten run in the two-day extravaganza.

On the first day of the tournament, the bankers came out strong in the group stages, beating Moi University 50-0 and later smashing Catholic Monks 35-7 before destroying Menengai Oilers 17-7 and ending the day top of the group.

In the quarters, the bankers beat Mwamba 33-07 to proceed to the semis, where they clashed with Tisap 7's champions, Nondescripts.

The Bankers showed they meant business by dispatching Nondescripts 12-05 in what was a hotly contested game.

KCB's flying half and number 13, Elvis Namusasi expressed his joy at winning his first-ever circuits trophy with the Bankers.

"I am overjoyed as this is my first ever Sevens Circuit win and for the team, it's a great win," he said.

He said coach Andrew Amonde's constant pressure on the team to perform and tactical genius was what helped them clinch the title.

"I thank the coach and technical team for putting a lot of pressure on us to perform both in training and competition," he added.

According to Namusasi, the squad is now eyeing the national 15's circuit."We thank the fans for their support and we would like to tell them that we are not stopping there," he said.

"We are going to keep on training and keep our focus on the national 15's," he added.

In the Challenge Trophy final, debutants Tessen Warriors were edged 7-5 by Catholic Monks in a close encounter while In the 13th place playoff, Catholic Monks thumped Impala 32-5 in what was a relatively one-sided encounter.

Strathmore Leos were on a roll in the first half of the fifth-place final against Kabras Sugar, scoring three successfully converted tries in the first half to put them 21 up, before the Millers briefly reduced the deficit just before halftime.
