KWPL teams rush to finalise transfers as FKF deadline looms

Kenya Women's Premier League(KWPL) is in full swing to finalize their player transfers as the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) prepares to close the player transfer window on September 30, making way for the 2023/2024 season.

The League is set to kick off on October 7 and the match between Ulinzi Starlets and Vihiga Queens will be the opener.

One team making notable moves in the transfer market is Zetech Sparks, who have welcomed several new additions to their roster.

Yvonne Kaveve, Anna Arusi, Beverline Adika, and Vivian Awino have joined the squad, with Sparks announcing these signings on their social media pages.

Sparks' head coach Benard Kitolo previously expressed his determination to secure quality signings for the team, ensuring they are well-prepared for the upcoming league.

"We are currently on the move to ensure we have the best ahead of the league," Kitolo said.

Gaspo Ladies are also making significant strides in bolstering their squad.

Their chairman Edward Githua said his side had recruited 12 new players to strengthen their side.

Among the players who have penned down their signatures for Gaspo ladies are, Jennifer Musembi, Lavenda Anyango, Mary Ndegwa, Venessa Wangari, Elizabeth Khisa, Ruth Wanga, Lilian Mutano, Catherine Wausi and Mwanaidi Karisa among others.

Ulinzi Starlets are yet to make any updates on any new signings.  Tactician Joseph Wambua had said he would not poach from other clubs but would seek fresh talents from schools. 

Bunyore Starlets, Wadadia Ladies, Trans Nzoia Falcons,​ Nakuru City Queens, Kenya Police Bullets, and Vihiga Queens are yet to announce their new signings.

​Already Soccer Assassins, Kebera Women's Soccer, and Bungoma Queens have made their signings.
