Nairobi Water Queens defeated Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology 42-16 in a Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) league match at Nyayo National Stadium.

The win pushed the unbeaten reigning champions to the top of the league table with 14 points, the same as National Cereals and Produce Board and Ulinz.

Sharks had a slow start leading 15-9 at the break before erupting in the last half. Brenda Musambai, Cecilia Katheu, and Captain Gladys Chilo showed the way.

Musambai and Katheu each tallied nine goals for the winners while Chilo chipped in with another eight. The losers had seven from Terry Akinyi and four from Esther Gathoni.

University of Eldoret "Pipers" beat National Youth Service (NYS) 37-30. They trailed 19-17 at halftime. Kevin Rotich scored 10 goals and Alphan Ndege had nine.

Kitale-based Trans Nzoia had pipped Wakanda 34-32 as Dan Ngoni and Edwin Wanyonyi scored six each. The losers' Abdul Abdalla had nine and Mbarak Ismael had seven.

In their other game, Trans Nzoia drew 36-36 with Hunters. Ngoni scored seven goals and Kevin Wasike six. George Liru had 10 and Timothy Wangila eight for the losers.
