Kenyan Premier League side Shabana have become the third club in the country to embrace online ticketing.

The club will launch e-ticketing in Saturday’s match against KCB at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay. Fans will pay Sh300 for VIP and Sh100 for terraces.

The Glamour Boys’ chairman Jared Nivaton announced the move on Friday.

Kenya Premier League giants AFC Leopards were the first club to introduce online tickets, followed by Gor Mahia.

“I am glad to inform you that our ticketing challenges are now a thing of the past. Now we have officially gone digital. Shabana will always set standards,” said Nivaton in a statement.

“We have taken time to develop this e-ticketing system and we hope it will run smoothly on Saturday. This will help the club minimize losses during ticketing. I appeal to our fans to turn up in large numbers to cheer the boys to victory.”

Shabana fans welcomed the introduction of e-ticketing.

“This is long overdue since it will streamline revenue collection. A move in the right direction,” said Joash Mwamba.

Shabana fear they could have lost thousands of shillings through alleged duplication of tickets during their match against Gor Mahia two months ago.

At the same time, Caleb Aringa has joined Tore Bobe as an assistant coach. Aringa, a CAF 'B' license holder, formerly coached NSL side Darajani Gogo.

He conducted training on Thursday and Friday morning, alongside interim coach, Oscar Kambona, who took over when Sammy Okoth was sacked alongside goalkeeper trainer Collins Oduor a month ago.

Shabana are yet to settle on a head coach but former Kenya Police coach Sammy Omollo looks favourite.

Nivaton said: “Negotiations with the head coach are ongoing. Once done, he will be unveiled."
