The Ministry of Education will decide the fate of the Kisumu County Secondary School boys’ soccer final.
Kisumu County Secondary Schools Sports Association secretary George Osura said: “We have two appeals which will be heard this week.”
Osura said Kisumu Day appealed against Katolo while Kisumu Boys appealed against Agai secondary.
Kisumu Day lost 2-1 against Katolo while Kisumu Boys lost 1-0 to Agai in their respective semi-finals at Maseno School.
In their appeals, Kisumu Day and Kisumu Boys claimed Agai and Katolo fielded ineligible players.
Katolo and Agai played in the final but the game did not end due to poor lighting. By the time of postponement, the teams were tied at 1-1.
“The County's director of education will convene a meeting to hear the appeals and decide on the final. We still have time to organise the final,” said Osura.
At the same time, Nyakach Girls dominated the Kisumu County Secondary Schools Term Two games after clinching the soccer, rugby, volleyball, netball, rugby 7s and basketball 3x3 titles.
Despite missing four key players who helped Rising Starlets qualify for the Under 17 World Cup, Nyakach thrashed Kudho Mixed School 3-1 to win the football title.
In rugby 7s, Nyakach beat Ojola 32-10 while in volleyball, Nyakach beat Koru Girls in straight sets.
In 3x3 basketball, Nyakach Girls overcame St Barnabas 11-5 to lift the title while in netball, they thrashed a hapless Kajulu 85-12.
Maseno School retained the boys’ 7s title after a hard-fought 7-0 win over Otieno Oyoo. Onjiko School bagged the boys' 3x3 basketball title after edging Maseno School 21-12.
