Kenya Morans coach Louis Kisia will seek improvement in decision-making and tactical discipline ahead of the second leg of the Africa Cup Sevens in Mauritius this weekend.
Morans finished sixth during last weekend's opening leg with just 10 points.
Kisia observed: "We saw a lot of individualism from the players and in our review, I told them to let the ball work for you. I believe we will see an improved performance from the team this weekend,” added Kisia.
He expects some of their players to raise their hands on the pitch for Olympic Games selection.
The national team, Shujaa, are in a residential training camp at the Moi Stadium, Kasarani.
“As a technical bench, we are keeping our eyes open — to see who will join Shujaa,” said Kisia, adding that some players had nerves despite the dismal display.
"A good number of our players had never played at this elite level and could not cope with the pace and physicality of top Sevens rugby. But if they play consistently at his level, they will become world-beaters,” said Kisia.
Morans are in Pool 'B' alongside Madagascar, Zambia and Algeria.
First-leg winners, Uganda, headline Pool 'A' — where they face Burkina Faso, Cote D'Ivoire and Tunisia.
South Africa 'A', Zimbabwe, Mauritius and Nigeria clash in Pool 'C'.
Kenya beat Mauritius 40-0 in the opener, edged Nigeria 25-0 and succumbed 7-5 loss to Madagascar in the final pool game to finish second.
Morans fell 12-7 to South Africa 'A' in the quarterfinals.
In the fifth-place semifinal, they beat Cote D'Ivoire 22-5 but lost 28-19 to Zimbabwe in the final to finish sixth.
Co-captain Brian Mutua said they are relishing the battle on the Indian Ocean island.
"We have three days to look at our various facets of play to be in contention for the title this weekend," said Mutua.
