Nyakongo Girls' and Kandaria will represent Siaya County at the Nyanza Region Secondary Schools Term Two games after appeals lodged by rivals fell through.

Siaya County Secondary Schools Sports Association secretary Omondi Obiero said the appeals were dismissed by the jury sitting at the County Education Director’s office on Wednesday.

Aluor Girls wanted Nyakongo punished for fielding ineligible players in the Siaya County volleyball final at Chianda High, where Nyakongo won the five-set decider.

“Aluor appealed claiming that some Nyakongo players did not meet the 90-day rule. However, documents presented by the school showed admission was done before the November 15 deadline,” said Obiero.

In the second appeal, lodged by Wagai Girls against Kandaria, the complainants could not provide enough evidence.

Kandaria beat Wagai 31-30 in a nail-biting netball final to lift the Siaya County title.

Nyakongo will battle Nyakembene, Ikonge Girls and Koru Girls in Pool 'B' of the regional championships to be held in Kisii.

In Pool ‘A’ Nyakach Girls, Ogande, Kameji and Kiabigoria will face off.

Kandaria join defending champions Oyugi Ogango, Lambwe and St Vincent Omwari in Pool ‘A’ of the regional showpiece on July 9 to 13 at Kisii School and Cardinal Otunga High School, Mosocho.

Pool ‘B’ features favourites Nyakach Girls, Ayora, Rirumi and Nyango.
