Nairobi City Stars' forward Robinson Asenwa has set himself an ambitious target after a successful debut season in the Kenyan Premier League.

Asenwa from third-tier side Vapor Sports to the top-tier in the just-ended season and featured in 29 out of 34 games clocking 1, 788 minutes.

He said: “I want to thank God and the team for giving me the opportunity and trusting in me. Last season was a learning curve as a new player in the league.”

“I also thank the coaches for giving me the chance to feature for the team and I attribute the performance that I had to them, alongside my teammates.”

Asenwa scored four goals and had six assists and three progressive passes.

He debut on Match Day Three against Gor Mahia at Moi Stadium, Kasarani. He scored his first goal against Murang’a Seal on Match Day Nine.

He also scored against AFC Leopards, Bandari and FC Talanta.

“I am more ambitious heading to next season. I learnt valuable lessons. I have goals to achieve, mostly personal targets, but all geared towards elevating the team to achieve its objectives,” he said.

“I scored each of my four goals from four different positions upfront; playing out on either flank, as a point man, and as an attacking midfielder. My dynamism will help me top up on that figure.”

He was twice named Most Valuable Player — against Tusker in the first leg and against Bidco United in the second.
