Kenya Police Bullets FC have been pitted against hosts Commercial Bank of Ethiopia in a tough Pool 'A' for Cecafa Women's zonal qualifiers, scheduled for August 17 to September 4in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Other teams in the pool are Yei Joint FC (South Sudan), Warriors Queens (Zanzibar )and Rayon Sport (Rwanda).
In Group B will feature Simba Queens, PVP Buyenzi (Burundi), Kawempe Muslim Ladies (Uganda) and FAD Djibouti.
Bullets FC earned their place in the qualifiers after winning the FKF Women's Premier League in June this year.
Bullets, who are making their debut, follow in the footsteps of previous Kenyan representatives Vihiga Queens.
The winner of the Cecafa qualifier will represent the region in the Caf Women's Champions League later in the year.
Three teams Commercial Bank of Ethiopia WFC, Yei Joint Stars (South Sudan) and Warriors Queens from Zanzibar will be making their fourth straight appearance in the Zonal qualifiers.
Uganda's Kawempe Muslim Ladies are the reigning champions while Vihiga Queens and Simba Queens have also made a significant impact in recent tournaments.
In the first edition held in Egypt in 2021, Vihiga Queens failed to make it out of the group stages after picking only one win against Morocco’s AS FAR.
In 2022, Simba Queens went all the way to the semi-final stage, where they lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns.
JKT Queens also failed to make it out of the group stages during the event held in Ivory Coast. They lost two matches and registered a 2-1 win against Athletico Football Club of Abidjan (Ivory Coast).
