FKF Premier League side Shabana FC have signed right-back Nicholas Meja and forward James Mazembe.
Meja joins Glamour Boys from Bandari while Mazembe joins the club after parting ways with Kenya Commercial Bank.
The club’s secretary general, Elizaphan Kerama, confirmed the two acquisitions. The players are expected at the team’s training base at Cardinal Otunga High School, Mosocho on Tuesday.
“Mazembe, a former Kariobangi Sharks and KCB will be key in our attack next season. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing him in action,” said Kerama.
Last week, the club signed attacking midfielder Cliff Nyakeya and goalkeeper Maxwell Mulili from AFC Leopards. Mulili is looking for more playing time after parting ways with Ingwe.
Shabana are seeking to sign more than 10 players in the current transfer window after parting ways with 14 players. “We want to have a squad of between 26 and 28 players,” said Kerama.
The club retained 14 players who were part of last season’s team which narrowly avoided relegation. Last week, the club restructured the technical bench as experienced coach Godfrey Oduor joined as an assistant coach.
Separately, newly promoted FKF Premier League side Mara Sugar FC have signed talented Koderobara High School midfielder Felix Casillas Opiyo.
Opiyo helped Koderobara capture the Nyanza region secondary school boys’ football title.
“Casillas is a talented and quality young midfielder. We are excited to have him on board,” said the club in a statement.
Casillas played for the Cane Millers in a friendly against MOFA at Raila Odinga Stadium on Sunday. Mara Sugar won 2-1.
