Kenya Police Bullets' head coach Beldine Odemba has reaffirmed their commitment to the upcoming Cecafa tournament qualifier.

“We’ve already started our preseason and we are preparing for the Cecafa qualifier. I have all the players I need on board and so far, we foresee a good pre-season," she said.

"We will have a camp before we start and we are ready to represent the country in the qualifier. If all goes well, we shall represent the Cecafa region in the Caf Champions League,” she added.

The Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) champions Kenya Police will pitch camp in Uganda from Saturday as they prepare to make their bow in the Cecafa Caf  Women’s Champions League qualifiers set for next month in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The law enforcers were on Wednesday pooled in a tough Group A against Ethiopia heavyweights Commercial Bank (CBE), Yei Joint FC (South Sudan, Warriors Queens (Zanzibar) and Rayon Sport Women’s (Rwanda).

“We are going to roll up our sleeves and work more as it's a big challenge for me as a coach and for Police Bullets as a team as we aim to be at the top,” Odemba went on.

Odemba was recognised as the best tactician in the 2023-2024 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women's Premier League season during the FKF gala night on Friday.

She marked a successful season by leading the club to their first league title in their debut season.

“The gala has been an eye-opener for the teams and individuals. It's good for players to see there is something worth competing for. We are preparing well and have been given enough support by our board.”
