Quins coach Paul Murunga believes his side can go one place better and win the Kakamega Sevens this weekend.
Murunga's charges fell short in their home tournament going down 17-12 to Kabras in the final but believes there are positives to take from the opening leg.
“It's the first of six tournaments and I believe the boys will get better. We will make several tweaks in Kakamega to see if we can win the tournament," he observed.
The Ngong Road outfit is in Pool B of the Kakamega Sevens, where they face Nondies, Daystar Falcons and Mwamba.
The tactician termed the pool tricky, especially with the form displayed by Nondies in the opening tournament last weekend.
"Nondies beat KCB to top their pool last week. They are one of the teams who have improved in Sevens and it will be a tough match against one of our rivals,” he said.
Murunga expects the circuit to be competitive with twists and turns culminating in the final Prinsloo Sevens tournament next month in Nakuru.
“It's wide open, especially considering the Kenya Sevens players are not in action until next month. It's anybody's tournament and as a team, we want to cash in and win,” added Murunga.
Hosts Kabras headline Pool 'A' where they renew rivalry with neighbours Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), Western Bulls and Blak Blad in Pool 'A'.
Surprise package Catholic University Monks face a tough test in Pool C' where they are up against 2022 circuit winners Menengai Oilers, Homeboyz Rugby and Kisumu RFC.
Strathmore Leos are arguably in the pool of death, where they battle it out against reigning champions KCB, Nakuru RFC and Christie Sevens Division Two winners Stallion RFC.
In Division Two, Embu RFC face KCA University, Sigalagala National Polytechnic and Kenya Police in Pool A. The matches will take place at MMUST.
Zetech University will play against Mean Machine, Homabay Rugby and Kisii University. Pool 'C' will feature NYS Spades alongside Northern Suburbs, Mbale RFC and Webuye RFC.
In Pool D, AP Warriors will be up against Kabarak University, Vihiga Granites and Bungoma RFC while Tum Marines have been pitted against MKU Nairobi, Busia Borderrucks and Shambere TTI in Pool E.
