Kisii-based football club Shabana has secured the sponsorship of betting company SportPesa Kenya.

The company announced on X that the deal has been “confirmed, signed and sealed.”

“Tore Bobe, welcome to your new home,” SportPesa Kenya said.

The Kisii-based club confirmed the deal, saying they are pleased to announce the sponsorship following extensive consultations.

"The club will enter into a sponsorship partnership with SportPesa. This partnership will mark a significant milestone for the club and underscore its commitment to fostering excellence in sports," Shabana management said in a post on X.

"We extend our gratitude to all parties involved and look forward to the positive impact this partnership will bring. Thank you."

Shabana FC is readying for their second season in the FKF Premier League, determined to improve last campaign's performance.

The team earned a promotion from the second tier and battled fiercely, fighting until the very last day to secure their spot in the top flight.

Their return to the league was marked by a challenging first half of the season, which was further complicated by the delayed replacement of coach Sam Okoth following his departure in November.

Their final-day victory over Murang'a Seal was a huge relief, securing their place in Kenya's top tier for another season.

Shabana finished 14th last season, thanks to a late resurgence in the final games that saw them leapfrog teams like Sofapaka and FC Talanta, ending with a total of 38 points.
