Goan Institute captain Fahran Khan hopes to cap off the season with a win at the fourth and final series of the Masters Hockey Tournament in Kisumu in November.

A win in Kisumu will see Goan rank top of the 11-team tournament.

They are third in the standings with 43 points, the same as second-placed Sikh Union and four behind leaders Nakuru.

"We will try as much as possible to outshine the others. Victory in Kisumu is very important since it means we can finish top," said Khan.

Khan hopes striker and short corner stopper Austin Otieno and striker John Fernandez will be back for the November leg after missing the Nairobi leg last weekend due to injuries.

They were missed in Nairobi as Goan finished top of their pool with seven points, two ahead of Parkroad Lions and Wazalendo (four points) while Western Masters and Blue Ocean Chiefs had three points each for fourth and fifth places respectively.

Sikh Union Veterans topped Pool 'B' with seven points, one ahead of Green Sharks.

Nakuru Masters had five points for third followed by Impala Veterans  (two points) and Kisumu Veterans (one).

Kisumu Masters gave the Nairobi tournament a wide berth due to a bereavement within the squad.

Goan Institute claimed victory in Series 2 in Mombasa in June, while Parkroad Lions won Series 1 in Nakuru in April.

Sikh Union are the only club to have won the tournament twice.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) are expected to announce a team of 30 and six officials upon the conclusion of the Masters' Tournament.

The team will represent the country at the World Masters Championships in Cape Town, South Africa, between October 11 and 21.
