Veuve Clicquot beat Tusker Malt 6-5 in the final to win the 7-Goal Polo tournament held over the weekend at the Nairobi Polo Club.

The tournament, sponsored by SBM Bank, drew hundreds of enthusiastic spectators, treated to high-octane action, marking the third event of the 2024/2025 Nairobi polo season.

The final saw Veuve Clicquot go head-to-head with Tusker Malt in a pulsating encounter.

The match was a true spectacle of skill and resilience, with Alexander Watson and Julian Cattin leading the charge for the winners.

Tusker Malt’s Dirk Van Reenen put on an incredible show, scoring three goals, but his efforts were not enough to overcome the precision and teamwork displayed by Veuve Clicquot.

The match's final moments were intense, with both teams pushing hard, but Veuve Clicquot held firm to clinch the title.

In the playoff, SBM Bank, winners of the Kenya International 6-Goal polo tournament the previous weekend, fell 7-3 to Turkish Airlines. Mauricio Andre and Bobby Karia played pivotal roles in the team’s success.

The fast-paced match saw the winners take early control, maintaining their lead throughout despite a valiant effort from SBM’s star player, Mbu Ngugi, who managed two goals for his team.
