The Kenya team continued their stellar performance at the 14th edition of the East Africa Community Games in Mombasa after bagging their second gold medal.

Nominated senator Jackson Kosgei gave Kenya the second gold medal in wheelchair darts, with Team Kenya captain Westlands’ MP Tim Wanyonyi settling for a bronze.

East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) member Alex Bahati won bronze in the game, which was played in a round-robin format. Kosgei beat both Wanyonyi and Bahati 2-0, while Wanyonyi beat Bahati 2-1 to win the bronze medal.

“It was fair competition. The spirit of the games is EAC integration. This means when you win a gold medal, you win for all of us. The results are encouraging, and our efforts are not in vain. All of us came here to perform well. If you don’t land on the sun, you land on the moon,” said the nominated MP.

“I feel motivated and encouraged after winning my first-ever medal in the games. I’m targeting another gold medal in the doubles,” added Kosgei.

“Each time, I’m doing better. I have grown and developed in the game. I will be the best. I have to perform better next year. We didn’t have adequate preparations because we have to mix the game with our legislative duties,” noted the MP
