Kanbis 'A' corner Stray Lions to keep unbeaten run in NPCA 50-Overs league

The Kanbis vs Stray Lions was the only Super Division match played in a weekend that saw three matches abandoned due to poor pitch conditions.

In Summary

• Sir Ali ‘A’ home match against Sikh Union ‘A’ at Park Road as well as the Kongonis ‘A’ vs SCLPS YL ‘A’ match at Nairobi Club were also abandoned for similar reasons.

• Despite heroic efforts by the Sir Ali Management to dry out the pitch using all sorts of equipment in their inventory, the pitch remained unplayable and the umpires decided to call off the game.

Kanbis ‘A’ maintained their unbeaten run in the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) 50-Overs Super League after a 147-run win against Stray Lions A.

Swamibapa ‘A’ remain on top of the Super League log on a net-run rate of 16 points same as Kanbis ‘A’ and Ruaraka ‘A’. Kanbis A have a game in hand.

Kanbis ‘A’ skipper Dhiren Gondaria was all smiles after their fourth straight win of the season.

“The boys played well and we hope to keep doing the same thing till the last game,” he said. 

Swamibapa ‘A’ match against defending champions Ruaraka ‘A’ earlier set for Nairobi Jaffrey’s was abandoned due to poor pitch conditions. Swamibapa have so far had two games abandoned which might cost them dearly in the end.

This was occasioned by the recent heavy rains which pounded the city. The heavy downpour on Friday evening rendered three of the four matches unplayable seriously denting the chances of title contenders.
