Centre Delma Odindi’s expected return to action will make Storms a contender for this year’s Kenya National Basketball League title, coach Abel Nson declared.

Odindi, who missed Storms’ opening three league games due to work-related commitments, has been training for the last two weeks. She will now be available in the team’s next fixtures.

“Odindi’s return is good news. We will make a lot of noise this year. But I still need another big player at the centre and if possible another wing player as well. We will be fine,” offered Nson.

The tactician said he has recruited well with the playoffs his bare minimum. Storms have two wins from their opening three games.

“We are playing a different brand of basketball this year. A run and gun form of offence with a lot of transition coupled with a lot of spacing as well,” he revealed.

“This team moves the ball a lot. We are a fast-paced offence team.”

Nson also confirmed the return of the lethal Angeth Deng with Joyce Nabwire, Diana Masingu and Elsy Teresia also in the frame.

New signings injected into the team are Sophie Reena, Happiness Buari, Aggy Khisa all from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) as well as Kenyatta University pair of top-scorer Emily Gicovi and Lisa Akon.

Storms, who were knocked out of last year’s title race by Strathmore University Swords, have released Cylia Atieno, Aurelia Achieng and Patience Wambua.

Storms have won two games, beating Africa Nazarene University (ANU) and TH3 Swish while losing to Equity Bank Hawks.
