Ulinzi Starlets will not spend big to sign players in the summer transfer window, coach Joseph Mwanza has said.

The tactician's decision is informed by the fact that he expects no departures from his current squad.

"We aren't going to sign players for next season. We are in touch with players from high school as we plan long term," Mwanza said.

The soldiers successfully defended their Women's Cup title following a 3-0 win against Nakuru City Queens in the finals played last month.

"We have a big squad. We are retaining almost everyone unless the situation changes," he added.

"Winning the Cup competition will give us momentum from the onset of next season."

Mwanza said he expects his squad to return to training next month after a month long break.

"We had a tough season, played so many games. Players deserve to properly rest so that when they resume preseason, they will be strong physically and mentally."
