Mukuru Combined fought from a goal down to go hammer Creative Hands 6-2 in a Slum Derby.

Alphan Muthoka hit Creative Hands for four with Dennis Aloo and an own goal by Daudi Anami helping Mukuru race to the front in the hunt for the title.

Caleb Abuya and Isaac Mukobi reduced the deficit for the Mukuru Kwa Reuben-based Creative Hands.

For his exploits, Muthoka was gifted with the match ball by tournament patron, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

In another encounter, Kenya Army side Maroon FC trounced South C United 3-0.

Eric Sifa turned the ball into his own net trying to head away a Raymond Omondi shot in the 17th minute for Maroon’s opener.

Brian Omondi soared high to nod the ball past the South C goalkeeper Michael Omondi to double the scores in the 66th minute before Kennedy Nderitu put the score beyond doubt after dribbling past Sifa to slot the ball into the net in the 85th minute.

Meanwhile, Nairobi County Assembly Sergent at Arms, Steve Mwangi, bagged a brace to pip Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) 2-1 in the tournament’s curtain raiser.

Mwangi shot the County Assembly into the lead in the 21st minute. Steve Ayoo leveled the scores for the journalists with a second-half strike. Mwangi secured the win for City Hall-based team from the spot after SJAK custodian fouled Brian Yobra in the box.
