Nigeria Striker Victor Osimhen admits he is inspired by Sadio Mane's off-the-field contributions but they share different goals even though they both strive to make an impact in their respective countries.

Osimhen, 24, is considered one of the best strikers in the world because of his elite finishing, pace, strength and athleticism.

The burley forward guided Italian giants Napoli to their first Serie A title last season, a performance that saw him linked to top European teams and mega-rich Saudi Arabian clubs but he opted to stay and continue his development in Italy.

“I am inspired by Sadio Mané. But I have a different goal compared to his. He is building infrastructure for the community of Senegal. That is awesome," @AzrOrganization reports.

"But for me, I want to help disabled challenged people across Africa. I will always do my best to help where I can help. I am in the process of opening headquarters in Africa which will help to achieve this goal."

Osimhen is a right-footed center-forward known for his presence, directness, eye for goal, and linkup play. His holdup play allows teammates to be effective in the final third. He also relies on pace to beat opponents.

The former Lille hitman has scored 90 goals for Napoli since he moved to Italy in 2020. Osimhen was a member of the Nigeria under-17 team that won the 2015 Fifa U-17 World Cup in Chile.

"If you don't have a leg, we will create a new one for you. If it's an arm, we will create a new one for you. We want them to feel equal to everyone. We work for Africa."

Osimhen won the golden-boot-award in Italy last season after scoring 26 goals, becoming the first African to achieve this feat.

He has already scored six goals in eight appearances this season and is one player who Chelsea are currently interested in as the English side consider bringing in a new striker in January to provide competition for Nicholas Jackson who has also notched six league goals.
