KCB FC head coach Bernard Mwalala wants his team to stay focused on their visit to Raila Odinga Stadium, Homa Bay, to face Shabana in a Kenyan Premier League encounter on Saturday.
After consecutive wins against Bidco United and Murang’a Seal, the bankers scaled to third on the standings, just three points behind leaders Posta Rangers.
Derrick Otieno's return is a welcome boost for KCB FC after he suffered a knee injury during the Murang’a Seal’s clash. The attacking midfielder, a consistent starter in Mwalala’s lineup, featured in all the 12 Premier League matches played so far.
Mwalala emphasised the team's thorough preparations, leaving no room for complacency.
He stated: "Facing Shabana FC is a significant test, and we are fully aware of the stakes. The entire squad is motivated and ready to give their all on the pitch."
"Our objective is clear, secure the three points and continue our ascent in the standings."
He called on the club's top scorer this season, Francis Kahiro (five goals) to keep banging them in and help the teams in their ascent.
"Francis is performing admirably and I am proud of him. I am confident he can finish the season on a high note.”
Captain Gabriel Andika, added:"We have to maintain a winning mentality. Facing Shabana FC is another opportunity to showcase our improvement this season. We are committed to giving our best on the field."
