Gor sign off in style after fending off vicious challenge from Bidco

The Kenyan Premier League season wrapped up on Sunday with traditional behemoths Gor Mahia tucking away their 21st top-flight title. 

K'Ogalo signed off in style after fending off a vicious challenge to beat Bidco United 4-3 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. 

Head coach Johnathan McKinstry was over the moon after hoisting his second consecutive title.

The Northern Irish gaffer will be leaving the club after landing a deal to guide the Gambian national team. 

"I'm extremely excited to witness this glorious moment. We've had a fantastic season and we are glad we ended it on a high note," McKinstry remarked. 

"I've had an amazing three-year stint at Kenya's most decorated club and I'm proud of what we've achieved with the boys during my tenure. I wish them well in the Caf Champions League and future aspirations," he added. 

Red-hot Kenyan international Benson Omalla stormed to the Golden Boot gong after notching a brace in the seven-goal thriller witnessed by a capacity crowd. 

Omalla fired Gor into the lead in the first minute of the match before converting a spot kick to double the advantage five minutes later, finishing the season with 18 goals. 

"It's finally home after coming close to clinching the award last season. I'm grateful to my teammates for their immense contribution because there is no way I could have achieved this without them," Omalla remarked. 

"Our next focus is the Cecafa Kagame Cup and then the Caf Champions League, where we also hope to assert authority," he added. 

Elsewhere, Sofapaka evaded the relegation sword after rallying from a goal down to beat Nzoia Sugar 3-1 at Dandora Stadium.

 They now proceed to the playoffs against an opponent who will place third in the National Super League. 

Muhoroni slumped down to the second-tier league after being held to a one-all draw against Posta Rangers at Muhoroni Stadium in Kisumu. 

KCB rallied from two goals down to beat Nairobi City Stars 3-2 at Utalii grounds. Shabana surmounted a vicious challenge to pip Murang'a Seal 1-0 at St. Sebastian Park. 

Kenya Police held Kariobangi Sharks to a two-all draw at Police Sacco Stadium to finish third. Tusker wrung out a narrow 1-0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz to crack the second spot.

Bandari cemented the fourth spot with a hard-fought 2-1 win over FC Talanta at Kasarani Annex in Nairobi.
