Kenyan football fans have every reason to smile after enduring an endless and fretting bout of frustrations over the years.

The East African nation will finally have a team at the World Cup for the first time in history.

This is after the women's national Under-17 team punched a ticket to a global showpiece slated for October 3  to November 16 in the Dominican Republic.

We celebrate this historic moment and savour the joy of having our heroic troopers on the world's largest stage.

As fans, we are proud to support them and will be roaring them on every step of the way.

Our girls are blessed with a remarkable blend of technical abilities, creativity and decision-making which were all instrumental in securing our qualifications.

They now have a majestic opportunity to exhibit their exploits and great potential on the world stage with sights firmly trained on landing luxuriant deals with foreign outfits.

We are all aware that the road to the 2024 Fifa Women's Under 17 World Cup was not all that easy.

The final journey might even be more bumpy. After successfully securing credentials in the ferocious qualification campaign, our focus now shifts to factors that can navigate us to triumph in the Dominican Republic.

Our team needs comprehensive backing from the federation and government to prepare effectively for the World Cup and execute the desired results.

The government should allocate adequate financial resources to fortify our preparations. There is a need to ensure an optimal environment for training.

The federation must work closely with the government to organise high-profile build-up matches that will thrust the team to the fitness level required to thrive on the global front.

They must also be allowed to train in top-notch facilities and be given decent accommodation in the course of preparations.

Moreover, there is a need to invest heavily in sports science and medical care to support the players' health, performance, and recovery.

This includes access to physiotherapists, nutritionists and medical professionals who can provide the necessary care and support throughout the tournament.

The government must guarantee timely logistical support, including travel arrangements and visas.

This will enable the team to focus on their performance without worrying about administrative details.

Succeeding in the World Cup requires immense skill and meticulous preparation. The high level of competition makes it incredibly challenging for any single team to emerge victorious.

Fortunately, our team boasts a talented and competent reservoir of individuals who can excel in their respective positions.

We are confident that each of the players enlisted for duty will bring their A-game to the table, cognisant that their performances can make or break a team's chances of success.

We must carefully analyse our opponents, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and develop strategies to exploit them.

This involves countless hours of training, video analysis, and strategy sessions to ensure that each player is on the same page and understands the team's objectives.

We must prepare the team to handle pressure and stay focused throughout the tournament. Players must maintain their composure and perform at their best when it matters most.
