FKF Premier League side Shabana FC’s Secretary General Elizaphan Kerama has promised a busy transfer window after the capture of attacking midfielder Cliff Nyakeya.

Nyakeya parted ways with AFC Leopards after his contract expired. He signed for Shabana on Sunday and is expected to link up with the team on Tuesday at their Cardinal Otunga High School training ground.

“We are pleased to announce that talented midfielder Cliff Nyakeya has joined us. We welcome him to Shabana and look forward to the contributions he will make to the team,” said Kerama in a terse statement.

“This week, our house will be busy. Our task remains to work objectively. We must ensure we get it right,” said Kerama.

The club is set to sign more than 10 players as only 13 did their medicals on Saturday and Sunday at a Kisii hospital.

They include—Fredrick Onyango, Dimpol Omamo, George Onyango, Mark Okola, Bernard Otieno, Justine Omwando, Christopher Raila, Lameck Onwonga, Samuel Maiko, Brian Michira, Ezekiel Omuri, Mathew Tegisi and Vincent Nyabuto.

The players reported for training on Monday when the team started their pre-season under head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo. Forward Nehemiah Onchiri, who was on loan at National Super League side Kisumu All Stars, also trained with the team on Monday.

The club is expected to strengthen all departments. The club will part ways with about 15 players, who were not booked for the medicals.

Already the club has started beefing up the technical bench. Timothy Ondeko has joined as a strength and conditioning trainer. The club is also set to employ a qualified physiotherapist and assistant coach following the departure of Oscar Kambona.

“Ondeko holds a Master's degree in Sports Science. He previously worked with Kakamega Homeboyz and we are confident that his expertise will positively impact Team Shabana,” said Kerama.

At the same time, Kerama announced a partnership with Nyanchwa High School. The school will be the official host of Shabana’s youth team. “This team will compete in the FKF Kisii County League next season. The collaboration aims to nurture and develop young talents,” said Kerama.
