Manoah named new coach of Kakamega Homeboyz FC

Veteran coach Edward Manoah has taken over the reins as Kakamega Homeboyz  FC as the new head coach.

Manoah replaces former head coach Patrick Odhiambo who departed the club for KCB FC, two weeks ago.

Manoah who steps in on an interim basis attended his first training session this morning and is expected to fully take charge tomorrow.

The experienced tactician returns to Homeboyz on a second stint having previously worked with the ingo in 2022. He later served as technical director at Homeboyz in 2023 before quitting after a misunderstanding with the management.

Manoh didn't disclose the terms and conditions of hid deal and if he would extend his stay if appointed permanently.

He, however, thanked club chairman Toto Shumanyula for the chance and promised to work hard to ensure good results.

The gaffer is also remembered for masterminding Vihiga United’s promotion to the FKF premier league after topping the NSL table with 81 points, before quitting the side.

Meanwhile, John Waw has returned to Kakamega Homeboyz and will resume his duties as the goalkeeping coach after agreeing to a new deal with the club. The former Sony sugar goalkeeper who was part of the club’s FKF cup-winning team in 2023, had ditched the Bukhungu side after the expiry of his contract last month.

Homeboyz finished at position 8 during the 2023-24 season under Patrick Odhiambo with 48 points from 34 matches.
