Ex-ICT CS Owalo donates track suits to Kakamega Homeboyz

He encouraged the 2023-24 FKF cup champions to work hard and beat perennial champions like Gor Mahia.

Former ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo on Friday donated 30 sets of tracksuits to Kakamega Homeboyz FC at an event held at Kakamega High School in Kakamega.

Owalo, a sports enthusiast with a biase for football, has been on the frontline uplifting the standards of the game at grassroots level countrywide.

He was accompanied by former internationals Austin Oduor “Makamu”; Aggrey Lukoye; Peter Dawo; Dan Musuku; George Onyango “Fundi”; Washington Muhanji; David Ochieng “Kamoga”; James Goro Oronge; Dennis Munyendo; Isaiah “Janabi” Omondi; Benard Musuku; Micke Otieno and Gerald Omollo “Chonjo”.

Owalo extended his friendship with the abana beingo [home lads] by handing them the kits to motivate them ahead of the new season that kicks off on the August 24, 2024.

Present was the chairman of Kakamega Homeboyz Cleophas Simanyula, the technical bench led by team manager Boniface Imbenzi and the playing unit led by captain Moses Mudavadi. 

Kakamega High School Principal Dr Julius Mambili also graced the occasion.

Owalo encouraged the 2023-2024 FKF cup champions to work hard and compete with perennial champions Gor Mahia, Tusker FC and other top sides to ensure they bring glory to the mulembe nation.

Owalo Foundation advances new frontiers in Sports, Health, Education, Shelter, Youth and Women Empowerment, Environmental to solve challenges related to economic mobility.

“We will also continue organising grassroot tournaments annually to help tap talents and also empower youth and give them a platform to advance their skills to higher standards,” Owalo said.

Last year, Owalo gifted Kenyan champions Gor Mahia a state-of-art bus, and also boosted AFC Leopards and Shabana FC financially as part of corporate social responsibility.
