Tusker FC to unveil new players at Ruaraka on Tuesday

The 12-time KPL champions released 13 players last season including Kenyan international Brian Bwire.

FKF Premier League side Tusker FC will unveil their players on Tuesday at their Ruaraka training grounds ahead of the start of the new 2024-25 season.

The brewers arrived in the country Monday morning after a successful one-week pre-season tour in Kampala where they played three international friendlies against top Ugandan sides.

Tusker beat Bright Stars 1-0 before overcoming Uganda Cup holders Kitara FC by an identical scoreline before concluding their Uganda trip with a 1-1 dra against Lugazi FC.

During the unveling of new players, Tusker will also unveil their new Umbro kit, having previously donned Mizuno sports equipment. 

The 12-time KPL champions released 13 players last season including Kenyan internationals Brian Bwire, Eric Kapaito and Daniel Sakari.

The Charles Okere-coached side have brought on board former Bandari goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka, Eric Balecho from Muranga Seals, Jacob Onyango and Dennis Wanjala both from Sofapaka and Ryan Ogam from Elite Falcons, Dubai.

Alex Onchwari joins from Muhoroni Youth while Thomas Omole departed division one side, Sam West. 

Meanwhile, Yusuf Mainge crosses over from Kenya Police FC, while Teddy Dok  was promoted from Tusker Youth.

Also set to be unveiled are Ugandan import Boban Zirintusa and George Kaddu from Tanzania’s Biashara FC and Wakiso Giants.

Interim coach Charles Okere who replaced Robert Matano said the three friendly matches helped them gauge the new signings and so far he is impressed with their showing.

"We attained our targets playing against top sides where our players' fitness levels, tactical and technical awareness was put to test practically," Okere, who formerly deputised Matano, said.

Okere is assisted by former Kenyan international George Maina and both will be mandated to grab the FKF league title from rivals Gor Mahia in the new season having finished behind them in the last two consecutive seasons.

Tusker will kick off their new season campaign against Sofapaka on August 25, 2024.
