The Harambee Stars rekindled their hopes of winning a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a decisive 2-1 victory over Namibia at Orlando Stadium in South Africa on Tuesday

Seasoned striker John Avire fired Kenya ahead in the 57th minute before Duke Abuya doubled the advantage in the 76th minute.

During stoppage time, Namibia managed to cut the deficit with a well-executed free kick.

Head coach Engin Firat commended his charges for playing faithfully to the script.

"I'm glad we managed to secure this win today. We want to win all six of our games to maintain our hopes, as I mentioned," Firat stated.

The win propelled Kenya to the top of Group 'J' with four points, one above the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon who have a game in hand.
