The Kenyan Premier League action resumes this weekend with the top guns eager to assert authority and gain ground in the cutthroat chase for the coveted title.

AFC Leopards head coach Thomas Trucha reckons his charges can bounce back strongly from their 1-0 loss to Posta Rangers at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos last weekend as they tackle Bidco United in one of the games lined up for Saturday.

The two sides will settle scores at Thika Stadium. Ingwe experienced a flying start to the season with a resounding 4-0 thumping of the newly promoted Mathare United before their heartwrenching loss to the mailmen.

"We have worked on the glaring errors that cost us our game against Posta last weekend. I believe the boys learned some key lessons from the loss and they will be eager to make amends on Saturday," Trucha remarked.

"We respect Bidco a lot because they have competed for a while now since 2019. We will try as much as we can to collect all the points from this encounter," he added.

Trucha said they will be with all their key men in the fixture as they aim to reclaim the top position from KCB. "We don't have any major injury concerns and all our squad members are prepared for the task ahead," he said.

Meanwhile, Bidco head coach Anthony Akhulia wants his charges to step on the gas as they lock horns with their more fancied rivals in the crunch Saturday encounter.

The Thika-based side will hope to clinch their first win of the season after registering two back-to-back draws in their opening fixtures.

"We can't afford to drop points anymore. We must now focus on winning matches if we are seriously eying a respectable finish in the league," he said.

"AFC Leopards are good but we don't fear them at all. We shall be going out for a win," he said.

In other matches scheduled for Saturday, Mathare United will lock horns with Sofapaka at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi. Mara Sugar hosts City Stars at Awendo Green Stadium.

League leaders KCB will hope to maintain their spot as they face high-flying Posta Rangers at Thika Stadium.

On Sunday, Kariobangi Sharks dare Murang'a Seal at Police Sacco stadium. Tusker and Homeboyz will lock horns at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos while Ulinzi Stars will tackle Shabana at Ulinzi Sports Complex.

Shabana head coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo pledged a good performance against the soldiers, adding they are keen to stamp authority in the competition.

“We are certainly determined to perform a lot better than in the preceding season. Our fans are demanding more from us," he said.
