The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has unveiled an Electoral Board ahead of the upcoming elections, with the board promising to deliver free, fair, credible and verifiable elections.
The schedule for the polls will be announced in three days with the exercise expected to be dispensed with by December 15.
The board, chaired by University professor Hesbon Owilla, includes High Court advocate Marceline Sande as secretary while Dan Mule, James Waindi and Alfred Nganga are the members.
They will be based at Kandanda House in Kasarani.
Owilla said the board is not only focused on running a transparent election but ensuring one that stands the test of time.
“Most Kenyans expect the elections to be carried out efficiently,” Owilla said.
“We are confident in the task ahead and we have fully grasped the responsibility placed on us. We are committed to seeing this process through to its conclusion.”
Owilla outlined three key priorities: the significance of the elections for Kenyans, the opportunity it presents to the contestants and the board's commitment to the process.
“For Kenyans, this election marks a renewal, a promise of a thriving football ecosystem. It's an opportunity for stakeholders to take charge of the sport’s future,” he said.
“The elections will set the foundation for the future of Kenyan football, one that players, fans and stakeholders have entrusted to us in.”
To the contestants, Owilla acknowledged the importance of the election as a platform to showcase leadership with integrity, vision and a commitment to elevating Kenyan football.
“This is a chance for each contestant to demonstrate their passion for making a positive impact, regardless of the outcome. The election will steer football toward excellence and inclusivity,” he noted.
He also addressed concerns regarding the location of the board’s operations at Kandanda House, insisting they will be available and open to all contestants.
“The location will not be an issue. Our focus is on ensuring a process that serves the interests of all aspirants,” Owilla clarified.
Every member of the board brings a strong track record of professionalism and credibility and that the election will be conducted with the highest standards of integrity.
