Twelve teams will feature in the second-round matches of the Rift-Valley Prisons Mental Wellness football tournament starting today at various prison facilities around the country.

The event is an initiative of Rift-Valley Prisons’ Regional commander, Barnabas Keinom, who is an assistant commissioner-general of prisons.

The centre of attraction will be the Pool 'A' match between the evergreen Narok Main Prison and Kabarnet Prison at William Ole Ntimama Stadium.

“We want to start this mission on a winning note because I trust my players can deliver good results and set the pace for the regional title,” said Benson Lomeri, the man in charge of the Narok Prison side. In another group match, Eldama Ravine will host Nakuru Command.

In Pool 'B', Sotik Prison, who are fresh from humiliating Bomet 8-2 last week, will battle with Kilgoris at Sotik Prison while Kericho Command will square it out with Bomet Main at Kericho Prison.

Kapsabet Prison lead the onslaught in Pool C and take on Ngeria Farm at Kapsabet as Eldoret host to Tambach.

Pool 'D' will see Lodwar host Kitale Annex while Kitale Main will renew rivalry with neighbours Kitale Medium at Kitale Main. Nanyuki Main will invite Maralal Prison to the Nanyuki in the only Pool ‘E’ match.

Pool ‘F’ will see Nairobi West collide with Naivasha Command at Nairobi West while Kitengela will face off with the closest comrades Kajiado Main at Kitengela Prison.
