Sara Cup organisers target to raise Sh3m

The organisers of the annual Sara Cup target Sh3m during this weekend's tournament at the Nairobi Primary School.

They want corporate companies to join them in raising funds to educate children from the Sanye and Munyoyaya minority communities in Lamu and Tana River counties respectively.

The tournament will feature football, handball, volleyball, netball, swimming, relays and badminton.

The Sara Cup, initiated in 2020, is in honour of a renowned Kenyan educationist and celebrated researcher Dr. Sara Ruto, who dedicated her time to improving the learning chances of disadvantaged children.

The tournament is an offshoot and component of the Tenda Wema Initiative — which seeks to lend a hand to those left behind by the various scholarship and bursary schemes.

The Tenda Wema initiative is hosted by the Zizi Afrique Foundation.

The annual tournament brings together Zizi Afrique Foundation, PAL Network, partners and their families for a fun-filled day.
