Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya believes they can build upon their 3-0 win over Murang'a Seal last weekend to see off Kakamega Homeboyz at the Mumias Complex on Sunday.

In an exclusive interview, Muluya said they will go for nothing short of three points in the tricky away encounter.

“The boys have already displayed immense potential and I believe the morale is high. We all want to collect maximum points against Homeboyz," he said.

"Fortunately, we are not having any major injury concerns ahead of the crucial encounter, which gives us confidence we can pull off a win."

Muluya said they intend to crack a top-five finish this season if not win a maiden Kenyan Premier League title.

“We are not merely participating but have our sights fully trained on title contention. Previously, we've lost players to rivals in the transfer window. We managed to keep most of our squad intact and I believe the continuity will be instrumental in our performance as we battle for points," he said.

Muluya is convinced they are well-placed to dislodge KCB from the summit of the log if they get their act right.

"Rising to the top of the table would be a major boost for us but we intend to concentrate on each game at a time and avoid unnecessary pressure that could distract us from the main goal," he said.

Meanwhile, Homeboyz head coach Ken Kenyatta has warned their opponents to expect a tough match, adding they will not let their fans down at home.

"We are going for maximum points. If they think they will come and bully us at home they are daydreaming. We cannot afford to lose in front of our fans, in our backyard," he said.

Kenyatta said their 12th position misrepresents their real potential.

"Nobody should underestimate our strength based on the position we are in. The season is still in its early stages and we still have many matches to prove ourselves," he said.

"We'll do everything we can to register a good outcome in the match against Sharks."
