Kenyan Premier League side Mara Sugar has bolstered the side following the departures of two key players.
Team manager Gilbert Ledama confirmed the acquisition of left-back Steve Otieno from Kisumu All Stars and midfielder Harun Thomas from National Super League side Mofa (Michael Olunga Foundation Academy).
They raided fellow Premier League side Shabana for holding midfielder Christopher Raila.
This is meant to fill the gaps left by midfielder Mathias Isagol, who joined KCB and forward Meshack Karani, who signed for Ulinzi Stars.
Isagol, a dead ball specialist, debuted in last weekend’s barren draw against title contenders Tusker at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos. Mara, Ledama said, are looking to strengthen their striking department with reports linking them with NSL side Nzoia Sugar’s top scorer Felix Seda.
Seda has scored six goals. “We have identified potential targets. The negotiations are advanced with the players and respective clubs,” said Ledama.
Meanwhile, Shabana are targeting Douglas Mokaya, who left Bidco.
If he joins the Glamour Boys, he will be the third signing of the mid-season transfer window.
The club have already signed forward Moses Shikanda from Kariobangi Sharks and former Ebwali Secondary midfielder Derrick Oketch.
Oketch joins former teammate Austin Odongo, who joined the Kisii-based side at the beginning of the season.
Shabana secretary general Elizaphan Kerama said Shikanda is a technically gifted player who will reinforce their attacking options.
They are targeting at least five players in the current transfer window.
